Thirty-five states plan to fully <!--more-->implement the standards by the end of the current school year, with the remaining 11 states scheduled to implement the standards by the end of the 2014-15 school year. A national poll was commissioned by Achieve, an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization and conducted by the Public Opinion Strategies and Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research with the purpose to determine the level of national support for the standards. Although, resistance has increased during the implementation phase, the survey found the public continues to back the need for national standards.
