The state of the science in the meta-analysis of single-case experimental designs, 2008

A review of the issues an methods for conducting a meta-analysis of single-case design research studies. The paper examines the use of parametric approaches like regression and multilevel modeling, and the development of parametric and nonparametric effect-size estimators. An effect-size estimator is introduced that may prove to be comparable to the usual standardized mean difference statistics (d) widely used in between-groups analysis.
